Role Description The Freelance Software Engineer will work in a full-time, remote capacity, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and back-end web services. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, implementing object-oriented solutions, and collaborating with team members on technical design and architecture decisions. The role involves reviewing requirements, identifying technical improvements, troubleshooting and debugging issues, and ensuring performance, security, and scalability across systems. The engineer will also participate in code reviews, integrate APIs and third-party services, and stay current with relevant technologies and best practices to support ongoing projects.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Hands-on experience with Software Development and Programming, including at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or similar).
Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, such as building RESTful APIs, working with databases, and integrating server-side frameworks.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to design modular, reusable, and maintainable code.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
Familiarity with testing practices (unit, integration) and basic DevOps or deployment processes is beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
